Setting up app integrations in the RingCentral app

Last updated on June 02, 2021
As we discussed in Intro to RingCentral app integrations, you can integrate various services into your RingCentral app.

When you set up an app integration with a third-party service in any of your conversations, you will be subscribed to that app. You will then receive notifications in that conversation about updates and events happening on the third-party app.

Setting up app integrations in the RingCentral app

There are two ways to set up the app integrations in the RingCentral app.
  • In the Apps menu, set up the app integration by hovering your mouse over the app tile and selecting the Add button.
  • In the conversation stream, set up the app integration by clicking the More kebab icon at the upper right of the center pane and selecting Add apps.

Setting up integrations in the Apps menu

  1. Navigate to Apps via the side menu bar.
  2. On the Discover apps page, search the list of available apps by browsing through the tiles on the right pane or by using the search bar on the upper right.
  3. Hover over the app tile and click the Add button.
  1. On the Select a conversation to add (app name) window, browse through the names of your recent conversations or search the name of the person or team and select that conversation.
  2. Follow the instructions on the next screen to connect or log in to the app.
  3. Click Finish.

Setting up integrations in a conversation

  3. Click the More icon at the upper right of the center pane.
  4. Click Add apps from the dropdown menu to be redirected to the Discover apps page of the Apps menu.
Add apps in a conversation
  1. Search the list of available apps by browsing through the tiles on the right pane or by using the search bar on the upper right.
  2. Hover over the app tile and select the Add button.
  3. Follow the instructions on the Set up (app name) window to connect or log in to the app.
  4. Click Finish.
Note: The BitBucket app supports OAuth set-up flow, which is an open-standard authorization framework that allows websites and services to share assets among users. This enables the setup to have an automatic installation flow. The rest of the apps support manual setup flow.

Once you have successfully set up the app, it will appear on the My apps section via the Apps interface and in the Apps tab in the conversation details panel of the selected conversation via the Message interface.
