Using the Click-to-Dial feature in the RingCentral app desktop and web

The click-to-dial feature allows you to register the RingCental desktop app as a default app on your computer to handle click-to-dial and click-to-fax. When this setting is on, RingCentral will automatically open when you click on any telephone or fax number on websites that support callto:, Tel:, and fax: protocols.
Under General, slide the toggle at the far right of Use RingCentral for click to dialand fax to enable or disable the click-to-dial feature.
After enabling the click-to-dial/fax setting in the RingCentral app, you will need to check your operating system settings to make sure that RingCentral is set as the default app for calls and fax.
Setting default app for click-to-dial/fax on Windows
Go to Settings via the Windows menu.
Go to Apps > Default apps.
Select Choose default apps by protocol.
Click Choose a default on the right side of CALLTO.
On the Choose an app window, select RingCentral.
Click Choose a default on the right side of FAX.
On the Choose an app window, select RingCentral.
Setting default app for click-to-dial/fax on Mac
To set the RingCentral app for desktop as the default app for click-to-dial/fax on Mac, you will need to set it in the FaceTime app.
Open the FaceTime app via the menu bar on your Mac computer.
Click FaceTime.
Click Preferences.
Click the dropdown menu for Default for calls and select RingCentral.
Using Click-to-Dial on Windows and Mac
Once you have ensured that the information above is completed, you can start using the click-to-dial feature in the RingCentral app for desktop.
Ensure that you are logged in to the RingCentral app for desktop for the automatic launching to work.
Click on the number you wish to call on a website page.
On the Make a call from popup, select RingCentral to open the dial pad and automatically make a call.
