VMware is integrated with the RingCentral app for desktop to improve the quality of your audio calls. This new feature will only be applied to Telephony users who have a VMware Virtual Desktop environment on their machines. To learn more, visit VMware VDI integration system requirements.

Note: The VMware VDI integration in the RingCentral app for desktop is only available on Windows.

Using VMware

If you want to use VMware with the RingCentral desktop app, you need to download and install these files.
Note: If you have RingCentral App VMware Services Files v. 21.3.22 installed on your Virtual machine, please uninstall it before installing the current version.

Ensuring your call is optimized by VMware

  1. Navigate to Settings via the left-hand navigation bar.
  2. Click on the Advanced tab.
  3. Make sure the tab at the far right of Optimize media quality for VMware is toggled on. This feature is toggled on by default if a user is detected to use the RingCentral app with VMware VDI.
Enabling VMware VDI integration
You can check if VMware is working if your call popup window has the Media optimized for VMware indicator.
