Configuring notifications and sounds in the RingCentral mobile app

RingCentral can notify you about activities in your account through email or push notifications.
You can update these notification settings at any time:
Mobile notifications
Email notifications
Unread badge counts
Note: When you customize your notification settings using your mobile phone, the settings will also apply to your RingCentral app desktop and web app. Notifications may be delayed or ignored for Android users if the RingCentral app is under the sleeping apps category.
Accessing notification settings
Tap your profile photo at the top left and select Notifications.

Receive notifications: Choose when you will receive mobile notifications:
When inactive: After 15 minutes of inactivity on the RingCentral app, you will receive notifications.
Always: Always receive notifications.
Never: You won’t receive notifications.
Direct messages: Receive notifications when someone sends you a direct message.
Mentions: Receive notifications whenever someone mentions you or your team in a message.
Teams: Select this option to choose when you will receive notifications for team messages:
Every message: Receive notifications for each message sent to a team you’re part of.
First new message only: Receive notifications for the first new message sent to a team you’re part of.
Off: You won’t receive notifications.
Missed calls, VMs, faxes, and texts: Get notifications for missed calls, voicemail messages, faxes, or text messages.
Join now: Configure when you are prompted to join a meeting: None, 30 seconds before, 1 minute before, 2 minutes before, 5 minutes before, 10 minutes before, or 15 minutesbefore the meeting.
Notification sound: Manage notification sounds and vibrations in your device settings. This will open the app settings in your Android or iOS mobile device.
Email notification settings
Direct messages: Configure how often you should get email notifications when you receive a direct message: Every 15 minutes, Every hour, and Off.
Mentions: Receive email notifications whenever someone mentions you or your team in a message.
Teams: Configure how often you should get email notifications when you receive team messages: Every 15 minutes, Every hour, and Off.
Unread badge counts
Select the type of messages screened for unread badge count: Direct messagesand @mentions or All unread messages.
Managing sleeping apps for Android
Putting an app to sleep causes the app to stay inactive until you manually open it, which means the app won't be able to check new updates and send you notifications. You can place the RingCentral app under Never sleeping apps for Android 9 and above devices or Unmonitored appsfor OS below Android 9.
Managing never sleeping apps for Android 9 and above
Navigate to Settings.
Tap Battery and device care.
Tap Battery, and then tap Background usage limits.
Tap Never Sleeping apps (Android 9 and above) or Unmonitored apps (OS below Android 9), and then tap the plus icon.
Select RingCentral from the list, and then tap Add at the bottom right.

Navigate to Settings.
Tap Device Maintenance, and select Battery.
Select Unmonitored apps and then tap the plus icon.
