Hiding the message tab in the RingCentral app

Admins can turn off specific features, such as the messaging feature, by configuring the custom roles in the RingCentral admin portal. Specifically, admins can hide or remove the Message tab.
 
Note: Hiding or removing the Message tab is not supported in the RingCentral Classic app. If admins can’t configure the Message tab, they can contact RingCentral support to request access.

Configuring the message tab

  1. Log in to the RingCentral admin portal.
  2. Go to Admin Portal > Manage Users > Users > Roles.

  1. Choose a Role Name, and click Edit at upper right. 
  2. Under Apps Access, go to the Desktop App or Mobile App, then uncheck Message Tab Shown in Main Navigation.

  1. Click Save.
Note: All users under that role will have their message tab hidden. Make sure to remove users from that role if they need to retain the message tab.
