Phones not sold by RingCentral may still work via manual (self) provisioning. The primary purpose of manual provisioning is to allow the phone to make and receive calls. Some RingCentral deskphone features will not work on manually provisioned phones and may vary depending on your deskphone model. See Certified and Supported Deskphones for RingCentral to check if your IP phone is directly supported.

Unlock your deskphone

If you purchased your phone from another service provider, make sure it is unlocked before attempting to provision it. A locked phone cannot be used with any other service provider. Contact your previous service provider for assistance with unlocking the device if needed.

Get the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) settings

SIP or Session Initiation Protocol is a communications protocol for signaling and controlling multimedia communication sessions, including voice over IP. This information is needed when manually provisioning your IP Phone with the RingCentral Service. The SIP information varies per DigitalLine.

To acquire the SIP information on the RingCentral Online account, visit Get the SIP Settings for Manual Provisioning.

Factory reset your deskphone

Resetting the device to its factory settings removes any previous configuration which can conflict with the manual provisioning settings. Refer to your phone's user manual for instructions, or contact your phone manufacturer's hotline support for any assistance if needed.

Access the phone's user web interface to enter the SIP settings

You'll need to access the phone's GUI to enter the SIP settings you acquired earlier. You will usually be prompted to enter a username and password to access the user interface. Refer to your phone's user manual or contact your phone manufacturer's support hotline for specific instructions or assistance, especially if additional information other than the SIP settings are needed to provision the device.
