Reducing background noise during a meeting in RingCentral Video desktop

RingCentral already removes most of your constant background noises (car noise, fan, wind, etc.) from your microphone. If you think you will be in a noisy environment during your meeting, you can select the Advanced background noise reduction option.
Advanced background noise reduction removes sudden background noises such as a dog barking, kids crying, and more from your microphone.
Note: This feature is available on the RingCentral app for desktop version 22.1.20 and later.

Selecting the Advanced option to remove background noise from meetings

  1. In a meeting, click the up-arrow next to the Mute/Unmute microphone icon in the bottom menu bar.
  2. Select Advanced under Remove my background noise. This setting will stay on for the duration of your meeting and will reset back to the default option (Regular) for your next meeting.

  • Using the Advanced option will increase the CPU utilization of the RingCentral app. If you notice signs of high CPU utilization, switch back to Regular, which doesn’t use any CPU.
  • While using the Advanced option, if your CPU utilization gets too high, you will be switched to Regular, and you’ll receive a notification of this change.
