Managing RingCentral Video meeting recordings for desktop and web

RingCentral Video meeting recording data retention

RingCentral Video meeting recordings are stored for a maximum time of one year and are then automatically deleted. Note: You can enable email notifications once a meeting recording is ready to view, shared, or deleted.

Checking RingCentral Video meeting recording status

  1. Go to Video via the left navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click All recordings under Recordings.
  3. Next to the meeting name, states like Loading or Failed will be shown. Meetings summaries and keywords will also show under the meeting name if available. Successful recordings will show a play button and its duration.

Editing a recorded meetings summary

The meeting summary provides a brief description and keywords of the recorded RingCentral Video meeting. You can edit a recorded meeting summary if you are the host or if you have permission to edit the summary.

  1. Go to Video via the left navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click All recordings under Recordings.
  3. Hover over the recording summary you want to edit and click Edit summary.

  1. Enter a short summary in the Brief summary field. You can enter a maximum of 200 characters for the summary.
  2. Add keywords in the Keywords field. You can enter up to 15 keywords separated by semicolons or commas.

  1. Click Save.

  1. Go to Video via the left navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click All recordings under Recordings.
  3. Click on the recording summary you want to edit. This will open the recording details.
  4. Click the Edit button near the Participants list.

  1. Edit the text in the Edit summary field. You can enter up to 10,000 characters.

Managing RingCentral Video Advanced Meeting Insights

  1. Go to Video via the left navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click All recordings under Recordings.
  3. Hover over the recording on which you want to manage insights.
  4. Aside from being able to download and delete the recording, you can view video and text highlights, copy and edit the summary, collapse and expand the meeting summary, and download the meeting transcripts.

Deleting RingCentral Video meeting recording

  1. Go to Video via the left navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click All recordings under Recordings.
  3. Hover over the recording you want to delete, and click Delete or click More > Delete at the far right. Note: Additional options are available if you are a host deleting a meeting recording.

  1. Click Delete to confirm.
Note: This will only delete your meeting recording.

Managing RingCentral Video meeting recording email notifications

  1. Go to Settings via the left navigation bar.
  2. In the left pane, click on the Video tab.
  3. Click the Edit button at the far right of Video meeting settings.

  1. Select General.
  2. Under Send email notification, check the box next to each setting to enable. You have the following email notification options: Recording is ready, Recording is deleted, Recording is shared, and Meeting has ended.
