End-of-service Poly deskphones and devices

The following Poly phones are approaching their security certificate expiration date. We recommend upgrading to one of the supported replacement models listed to ensure continued compatibility and security updates with AT&T Office@Hand.

Poly deskphones do not have a standard end-of-service date. Each device includes a unique security certificate (TLS) installed during manufacturing, which is tied to the phone’s MAC address.

Note

  • Expiration date: When the security certificate expires, the phone can no longer connect securely to the AT&T Office@Hand system. Because expiration dates vary by device, please check the label on the back of your phone to find its security certificate expiration date.
  • Special offers: Purchase five or more qualifying Poly phone products and earn up to $75 per unit with the HP Poly Phone Cashback Program.

AT&T Office@Hand Phone app End-of-Life and End-of-Support

AT&T Office@Hand has officially announced the End-of-Support (EOS) and End-of-Life (EOL) for Office@Hand Phone app for Windows and Mac.

The newer AT&T Office@Hand Desktop app for Windows and Mac was launched several years ago and includes improved reliability and performance, new AI enhancements for efficiency, and a variety of new features.

To continue receiving app updates, support, and access to the latest features, all users must switch to the new AT&T Office@Hand Desktop app

End-of-Support

The Office@Hand Phone app has officially reached its End-of-Support phase. As an existing Office@Hand Phone app user, you can continue to use it until the End-of-Life date; however, AT&T Office@Hand will no longer release new updates or features for the app, and technical support will no longer be provided.

End-of-Life

What does End-of-Life mean?

The Office@Hand Phone app has officially reached its End-of-Support phase. As an existing Office@Hand Phone app user, you can continue to use it until the End-of-Life date; however, AT&T Office@Hand will no longer release new updates or features for the app, and technical support will no longer be provided.

All you’ll need to do is download and install the AT&T Office@Hand app (https://www.ringcentral.com/apps/office-at-hand/officeathand-app)

Is the AT&T Office@Hand mobile app being retired?

No. The Office@Hand Phone app isn’t the same as the mobile apps available on the App Store or Google Play Store. The Office@Hand Phone app is a desktop-only application that was developed for Windows and Mac. The AT&T Office@Hand mobile app will continue to be available.

How can I tell if I’m using the Office@Hand Phone app?

If you’re using the Office@Hand Phone app, it will display Office@Hand Phone app in the top title bar, and will appear similar to the image on the left. It’s a smaller screen that includes the dialpad and other tools only displayed on the top and bottom toolbars.

The current AT&T Office@Hand app, the app that you should be using, will appear similar to the image on the right. It’ll have your profile picture and company name in the top left corner with a wider variety of tools in the navigation bar.

Is there another desktop app that I can use or do I have to switch to a mobile app?

Yes, you can switch to the newer AT&T Office@Hand Desktop app for Windows and Mac. You don’t have to switch to a mobile app, but you can download the mobile version from the iOS App Store or Android Apps on Google Play.

To download the desktop app as a user, visit https://www.ringcentral.com/apps/office-at-hand/officeathand-app and click the Download button (A). Once installed on your Mac or PC, sign in using your existing credentials and continue using AT&T Office@Hand app without interruption.

I’m an IT Administrator, is there an MSI version for my users?

Yes. You can download the MSI/PKG installer from the Admin Portal:

  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click More.
  3. Click Apps and resources, then Desktop Apps in the left menu.
  4. Select the .msi version from the dropdown, then click Download.
  5. Select the version that fits your IT requirements and deploy it to your users using your preferred deployment method.

When is the EOL date?

  • EOL will be rolled out in phases. Each customer will receive a specific EOL date, based on the rollout schedule.
  • Admins will receive a communication 30-40 days in advance about their specific date.

What should we expect as a customer?

If your company has users on the Office@Hand Phone app:

  • Admins will receive a series of emails AT&T Office@Hand informing them of their EOL date, and continual reminders as the EOL date approaches. The emails will be sent approximately 40 days, 15 days, 7 days, and 2 days in advance, and the last one will be sent on the EOL day.
  • Office@Hand Phone app users will receive a series of in-app notifications informing them of the EOL date and where to download AT&T Office@Hand app. The first notification will occur approximately 40 days before the EOL date, and is repeated every week. The in-app notification will give the options to download the new app, be reminded later, or skip this version.
  • On the EOL date, Office@Hand Phone app users will receive an in-app notification informing them that the app can no longer be used, and they must download the AT&T Office@Hand app or use AT&T Office@Hand web app. After that, they should uninstall or remove the Office@Hand Phone app from their computer.

Can we defer our EOL date?

No, it can’t be deferred. Please contact the support team.

What if we’re waiting for an Office@Hand Phone app feature to be implemented in the AT&T Office@Hand app?

Please contact the support team for any questions about feature availability.

I have both apps installed. When I make calls in the AT&T Office@Hand app, why does it open the Office@Hand Phone app?

If this happens, your system is set to use the Office@Hand Phone app for phone calls. To update the settings to use the AT&T Office@Hand app to make calls:

  1. In the navigation bar, click Settings.
  2. Click Phone.
  3. Scroll down and under General, click the Default phone app for calling dropdown and select Use AT&T Office@Hand (this app).

What can I do to make the new desktop app resemble the old phone app?

Compact mode lets you resize your app to take up less space which works well for users who primarily use the phone features.

  • Hover over the corner of your app to see the resizing arrow, then click and drag to resize your app to take up less space.
  • When the app is full size, your navigation bar will appear on the left side. As you shrink the app into Compact mode, the navigation bar will move to the bottom, allowing you to still access all features easily.

You can also pop out the keypad or Heads-up Display (HUD) and minimize the main app window.

  1. Click Phone in the navigation bar.
    • Click the More icon at the top right of the keypad, then select Pop out keypad (A) to use the Phone features in a separate window.
    • In the HUD tab, click More icon, then select the Pop out HUD (B) and use the separate window to call, text, message, or fax the contacts added to your HUD.

If your organization uses other tools for internal messaging (such as Slack or Teams) and you want to avoid the users being confused on which app to use, contact the support team to disable Composability mode for your account. This will simplify the look of the AT&T Office@Hand desktop app.

Are there any potential issues to be aware of when switching to the AT&T Office@Hand desktop app?

All of your call history, voicemails, and faxes will move automatically from Office@Hand Phone app to AT&T Office@Hand. You won’t have to copy anything over, but you’ll need to update your audio settings to set up HID integration or connect your headset and camera. Visit Managing phone settings in AT&T Office@Hand for more information.

While you can keep both apps running on your computer for a few days to weeks after your transition to avoid any interruptions, you should uninstall the Office@Hand Phone app once you’re used to the new app and workflow.

When my customer installs the AT&T Office@Hand desktop app, does it automatically uninstall the Office@Hand Phone app for them?

No. It doesn’t uninstall the Office@Hand Phone app automatically. There’s an optional step to uninstall it, but it’s recommended to do it right away as keeping the two apps active can confuse users.

Our company policy has strict requirements on AI. How can I disable AI features in AT&T Office@Hand, such as AI call notes?

The AI notes feature is turned off by default. Users can enable it in the AT&T Office@Hand desktop app settings, and then turn it on at the beginning of a call.

Currently, there isn’t a way to disable it at the account level, but admins can perform a bulk update to disable it for all or some of their users.

I’ve been using the print-to-fax feature in the Office@Hand Phone app. Is it available in the new AT&T Office@Hand app? How do I set it up?

The AT&T Office@Hand desktop app supports the print-to-fax feature. To learn how it works, view the steps for sending a fax (search for “print-to-fax plugin”). If you're looking for the driver, it's installed automatically with the AT&T Office@Hand desktop app. This driver is different from the one used in the Office@Hand Phone app, so make sure to select AT&T Office@Hand Fax when setting up print-to-fax in AT&T Office@Hand.

I installed the new app but it doesn’t recognize my printer, which I need for the scan-to-fax feature. What should I do?

You’ll need to install the most updated version of the TWAIN-compliant driver for the scanner to work with the AT&T Office@Hand desktop app. For more details, please review Sending a fax with AT&T Office@Hand. If the issue persists, contact support.

Can I use a custom fax cover sheet in the AT&T Office@Hand app?

Yes, the AT&T Office@Hand desktop app supports custom fax cover sheets. To set up a custom fax template, download the sample template, customize it with your preferred style and template variables, then upload it in the fax window. Your template will be saved and available for future use.
